Bariatric Surgery Program
Structure House’s specialized bariatric weight loss surgery track combines behavioral and insight interventions to enhance the long-term effectiveness of bariatric surgery—both for those who have had obesity surgery, and for surgical candidates who need to develop a viable exercise and nutrition plan prior to surgery.
Obesity surgery may change the body, but it does not change the mind. By combining the principles and strategies of the acclaimed Structure House Bariatric Surgery Program with the alterations from surgery, we create a team approach to help you enhance long-term success.
Pre- and Post-Surgery Support
Prior to surgery, patients are often advised to begin changing their diet and exercise patterns. Structure House can assist surgical candidates in developing an appropriate exercise program and in altering their eating habits. For individuals who have had surgery, Structure House also can provide assistance. Often, after significant initial weight loss, people find that weight loss slows, weight gain can occur, and cycles of binging and purging may occur along with the rejection of some foods. The staff can help participants avoid these undesirable outcomes.
The Importance of Our Program
Some Individuals remain dissatisfied with their body image after weight loss surgery. Our evidence suggests that our program helps participants change eating patterns, while improving mood, self-esteem and confidence. In addition to the offerings of our Core Program, the post-surgery track will include several new treatment options specifically designed with the post-surgery participant in mind.
